Hey I’m Ratta Kidakarn, a Product Designer who loves building engaging experiences
During my time as a flight attendant, I became interested in UX design, which was gaining popularity. This sparked my desire to learn something completely new while using my current skills. I found a YouTube video about UX design that really caught my attention.
It was tough at first, balancing my job and learning new skills like using design tools and understanding design principles during my days off and after flights.
It was tough at first, balancing my job and learning new skills like using design tools and understanding design principles during my days off and after flights.
I started learning on my own by watching YouTube videos about design. Eventually, I realized I needed more structured learning, so I signed up for a design boot camp in the USA. This meant I had to adjust to a tough schedule, waking up very early (like 3 a.m.) because of the time difference, to attend mentor calls and sessions. But, I was very passionate about it.
I began with basic tasks like drawing wireframes on paper, learning how to use Figma, and figuring out how to apply for jobs with no previous experience. I even did something creative by conducting quick user interviews at Starbucks, offering people a free drink for their time. This hands-on approach helped me create my first design project from start to finish, and I'm still proud of it today.
I didn't stop there. I looked for feedback from other designers and developers, often staying up late or waking up very early to improve my skills. This hard work paid off when I got my first job in the field.

After years in the industry, my experiences shaped me into a better designer, one who bridges the gap between digital and physical spaces in both consumer and enterprise products. I now bring human-centered design to the forefront, advocate for user needs, and employ strategic design in complex problem spaces to deliver compelling user experiences.
Through all the ups and downs, I learned an important lesson: even if the world says "no," never say "no" to yourself. Keep going, keep learning, and always believe in your own journey.
